"I taught English in Thailand for a year, and I tried to continue in education when I returned to the United States, but it wasn’t nearly as fulfilling for me. In Thailand, teachers are really revered. In the hierarchy of prestige, it goes: kings, then monks, then teachers. Parents would always be asking for advice. My students would come up and hug me in the streets. It was almost like I was being welcomed into the families of my students, and we were working together toward education. Back in America, it felt like Home and School were two different zones. It felt more isolating. In Thailand, I definitely felt like I was making a difference. In America, it felt like ‘maybe’ I was making a difference.”

Amen, brother.

The fact Lois is 100% ready to throw down makes me ecstatic

Is there more of this? I want to see her interview everyone.

When we were making these Tales of Metropolis shorts, we thought we had the budget to make 5 shorts, so Will Patrick and Marly Halpern-Graser wrote 2 outlines for Lois, 2 for Bizarro, and 1 for Jimmy Olsen (sorry Jimmy). But then it turned out we only had the budget to make 3, so we cut 1 of Lois’s and 1 of Bizarro’s (sorry Lois and Bizarro). The other Lois short was going to have her chasing down and trying to interview a supervillain (Mirror Master, if memory serves), inadvertently foiling his crimes as she did so, ending in his arrest.

The other two we did make are online - here’s Bizarro’s (Lois is still pretty awesome in this one) and here’s Jimmy’s (Lois isn’t in this one, but it’s still pretty funny, if you ask me).

Love love love these!!!

I love it. Super fun and light.
